In case you don’t subscribe to the Substack Blog (and you probably should), here’s a post yesterday on a few new features for writers:
New! Homepage links, restore post drafts, and improved stats page
In light of the blog post, I’ve added a few categories of links to the Sub Pub homepage. The links are like a “blogroll”; they contribute to the impression that a newsletter’s website is essentially a blog (which I think is a good thing).
I’m impressed by how many versions of drafts and posts are saved in draft history. Drafts were saved for all of my posts (even from months ago)!
Regarding the stats page, more stats are generally a good thing, as I imagine you’d agree. In particular, I’m happy to see the open rate for each post/thread all in one table.
The comments on the blog post so far have mostly positive feedback as well as suggestions for other features.
I suppose it’s best to add your comments to the blog post. But feel free to comment here on features you like, dislike, or would like to see on Substack.
I'm not going to be happy until Substack solves world peace. But they don't seem to be even trying.
Sigh. Guess it's back to Twitter.
