Have you had trouble with the custom button not showing up in mobile view? I just added new buttons which look great on desktop but aren't showing up when I view on my phone.
I changed it from Subscribe to Join Now - so no text is not long. Not sure how to share in image here but can send you screen shots. It essentially didn't change for mobile - so looks like the regular Subscribe button.
Thank you! And thank you for replying. After we chatted yesterday it magically fixed itself on mobile. Maybe there is a bit of a lag when you make that change. Seems like it took about 24 hours.
Can a customized button be saved, so that you can use it repeatedly on the welcome page, in emails, etc? This seems like it should be pretty easy to do.
There is usually a 'like' button (in addition to the 'heart' button) on posts I receive from other authors. How do I add a 'like' button? I don't see it in the drop down list of buttons. Appreciate any help.
I have tried adding subscribe with caption to my newsletter , but when I check the preview or to the test email I sent , it shows subscribed. Does anyone know what I should do here ?
Hi, Scott. Thanks for your post. Do you know if the custom links are editable after publishing? It appears I may have an error with one of the links and I'm not finding a way to update the custom button now that it's published. Any ideas?
Scott, If you were a women I would propose marriage. I love the idea of Substack and have been trying to get mine up and running. The documentation on how to do things like buttons Sucks. I have spent 3 days trying to figure out what you explained in 3 minutes. Thank you. Substack should hire you(with stock options) to create a manual. Many people give and never get their substacks up and running.
Way, way, way too complicated. I cannot figure it out at all. Nobody ever has just one button in a post anyway, so how does the link change to the correct button?

I haven't tried customizing buttons recently. But I'll experiment and let you know what I find.
Is the text you're using on the buttons especially long? Do the buttons themselves not show up, or just the text? Is there an example you can show me?

Is the page live on your newsletter site? You could email me screenshots at subpub@substack.com. Or you could email the link to a draft of the page.
Incidentally, your newsletter looks very interesting!

Hey Scott, do you know to edit the leave a comment button?
How do I create a Subscribe now button on the right hand margin? I've noticed many Newsletters have this but it's not intuitive how to do it.

Good thread with useful tips. How do you get that "Ready for more?" banner at the bottom?
Had another comment, figured out I was just being dumb. Please disregard that one. Thanks for sharing your insight.

Hello, how do I delete the subscribe now button?
I selected "add subscribe button to posts" but I don't like the look of it.
Thanks

How in the heck do you change the caption inside the Subscribe With Caption option? I can't find it for the life of me.
Any recommendations on how to create a button that triggers "reply to email"?

I'm having the same problem.
