I'd be wary of trying to use Substack as a Linkedin substitute. For a start you'd have to update all your info in both places every time you want to make a change (errhg). Better to use Substack to show off your expertise (in your writing) and link back to LinkedIn from your About page for people who want to explore more about who you are.

From LinkedIn people can click through to find out about the companies you've worked for, and see what skills others have endorsed you for, so it is much more powerful than a Substack pdf resume.

As for duplicating a Substack newsletter on LinkedIn, no thanks. I want people to find my newsletter on LinkedIn, then click through, away from LinkedIn, to Substack where I can easily ask them to pay for a subscription and keep better control over my list.

I saw that! But you have to have more than 100 connections to open one. I do enough professionally, so I don’t really want to invest any more in creating that type of content. I have a book draft related to my career, but I’m not working on that right now. For those inclined, it is a valuable feature that could drive lots of growth.
