I haven’t participated yet in Substack’s writerofficehours (or its recent shoutout thread). But the number and general enthusiasm of comments suggests that they’re popular.
Have you commented in or read any of the office hours discussions?
Do you think Substack should continue holding these discussions on the same schedule?
Would you like to see other measures to support Substack creators?
I'm writing my next newsletter on "How Writing a Comment in Substack's Writer Office Hours Changed my Life Forever". Then I'm going to list 5 ways how you, dear reader, can write a comment and change your life.
Although I am worried that writing this comment will change my life back to what it was before I wrote that comment. Sigh. Why does everything have to be so complicated?
I am (or was or will be) contemplating a post entitled "Altering Spacetime for Fun and Profit." If you'd like, I could travel back to ensure that your comment does change your life in the way you see fit. (Hmm, maybe I should make this service a perk of paid subscription. 🤔😉)
Just discovered your newsletter (via Discord), Scott, and I'm glad I did! I have participated in almost all of Substack's Office Hours and find them pretty valuable. I always learn something, but I've also made real connections with other Substack writers. I definitely think Substack should continue them, and I'm up for any other measures Substack thinks up to support creators -- the more experimentation on the part of the team, the better.
This is a welcome feature and much appreciated. Another reason I stick with SS.
