one country invades another and threatens nuclear war
a certain court opinion might change law and politics on a very controversial issue
….it gets a person to thinking:
Why Are We Here?
or, if you prefer,
What Are We Doing Here?
By “here,” I mean both on Substack and in this world in general.
Re me, I think, I'm not likely to change the world in a big way (though you never know). But maybe I can help people in small ways. Even the small things could make a big difference in unanticipated (hopefully good) ways.
I'm also here for other reasons: expressing myself; making money (crass but necessary); etc.
So (while you wait for my next post on why I've delayed posting for so long), why are you here? 🤔
Hey Scott, like you, I'm *here* on earth to make a (positive) difference and leave the world a better place than how I found it.
I'm here on Substack to keep food professionals up to date on 🍏 food safety 🍏 food fraud 🍏 and food supply chains 🍏 (and I'm here to get $$ my expertise 😁 )
Hi Scott, just stumbled upon Sub Pub and liking it immensely!
Like you, i'm also here to help people (specifically other artists, but anyone who wants to help themselves, really) make positive changes in their life. And i truly believe i've been put on this earth to also make music! 🎶😊
I'm here for similar reasons: to try to make a difference in the world in some small way. But also because I've been wanting for some time to get back to writing for my blogs and to find a way to create a kind of dialogue between my various blogs and between myself and other writers as well as readers. Substack looks to be the best option for doing that today, and it doesn't hurt that (a) it's easy to connect with readers and to make your writing look good visually without putting in a lot of sweat, and (b) writers can make money if they want to. At present, I want to write without worrying about income, but at some point I may want to offer some things for paid subscribers.
I am here to help. I am here to express myself. I am here to join in Mystery. I am an atheist. I am a shaman and I have conducted shamanic ceremonies for 32 years. I am a now retired psychotherapist. I used to help by providing psychotherapy. I am a recovering addict and am here to help others who want to stop all forms of addiction. I am here to help others understand their unconscious processes. I started authoring novels when I retired and am in the promotion stage with my fifth novel, CRAY CRAY NAYSHUN, the story of a stand up comic who tours America. I am here in hopes of finding a community of authors, spiritual people, and recovering people.

Yes to the little or big impact! For me, I think I'd also throw in connection and creativity.
