I don't use Apple products, so I can't use the official Substack app -- at least not until one is made available for Android. However, since I use the Edge browser on my phone, I was able to install Substack as an app on my phone's home screen and thus am able to enjoy the mobile version of Substack as if it were a "real" app. Works for me.

I like the reader, nice clean interface, can see updates at a glance without clicking through a menu on a browser. Keep up the good work! ♥️

For those of you viewing this on a mobile browser, is the post (as opposed to the comments) not fitting on the screen?

It looks good on my iPhone.

I left them this comment: “ Sorry, but as a writer I don’t like it. Where are all the menus and links from my lovingly curated home page? I’m exaggerating about the lovingly curated part, but those links are very important to me! Otherwise, great work! I like the rest of it, but also wish each article graphic/photo wasn’t so square, and so small...”

(I realize that many do not add menus and links to their home page, but some do, and count on these!)

I am seeing comments about writing on the platform - can I ask a related question? I start my posts on google docs and then paste over to Substack. Does anyone else share this process? Or am I working too hard? Do most writers just work within the editor? thanks!

I work within the editor. However, I save some versions to Google Docs. When the editor ate one of my drafts, I copied the Google Docs version, pasted it into the editor, and proceeded with little difficulty. (In my view, mobile Google Docs isn't as good as desktop, but good enough.)

my progression has ben when I started I would wait until Friday morning to write that day's post - that stopped working when I realized I needed to edit and let the post ripen a day or two. Now I start on google and move to the editor. I suspect as the editor and I become more familiar, and if there is an app publishing function, that may be the next step.

Have you done anything on Podcasting? Or at the minimum of providing a listen to this article option? I would love any help on getting those off the ground

I really should create a podcast. ("SubstackCast"?) Or at least I should start a discussion thread about podcasts. I think I'll do both of those things soon.

As a user I like it so far. It’s a better reading experience than email. As a publisher, I like that it may help with discoverability. I also like anything that makes for a better experience for my readers.

So far it’s very nice. I didn’t use reader before this so it’s nice to see all my subscriptions in one place. I can get notifications instead of 60 emails on office hours. I like it. I don’t mind still writing on the web interface.

It’s a good thing but it’s hard to get excited about it when I can’t publish on it and their FAQ sounds like that’s not a priority for them. Oh well.
