As explained in recent posts, I'm subscribing to all Substack newsletters (that are free, public, and not apparently abandoned or against Substack's terms).
I promised to let you know anything interesting from this project.
This appears interesting.
It's the Sub Pub profile. The GIF shows some of the account's subscriptions.
This is just the beginning, literally and figuratively.
The GIF shows subscriptions alphabetically through most of “B.” But then there's the rest of the alphabet.1
The list has 400 subscriptions now, which you can see on the profile.
It could eventually have 40,000. 😮
I hope the list will be useful to you as a writer or reader of Substack newsletters.
As far as I know, there's no place now to find all Substack newsletters. This list could serve that purpose.2
It could be the basis for a more useful random button. Or a custom search engine for Substack newsletters.
In short, it should be good for Substack newsletter discoverability.
If your newsletter isn't on the list, please feel free to post a link in the comments or email me.
You can share this post if you think the list would be useful to other writers or readers.
It will take a while to go from 400 to 40,000. But I feel it's worth the effort. 🙂
In this list, Substack places titles beginning with non-alphabetic characters first, then ones beginning with capital letters in the Latin alphabet, then lowercase letters. Titles starting with a Japanese character are last. I presume Substack will also put titles starting with other non-Latin alphabet characters towards the end of the list.
Even if the list gets long, you could use the “find” feature on your browser (Ctrl F on Windows, Cmd F on Mac) to get to a title you're interested in. Or you can view the page source and then use “find” to locate newsletters by web address.

Wow! What a great resource! Thank you so much! And thanks for including my newsletter. Just this AM I launched a sister newsletter strictly for writers and writing. Could you please add it to your list? It's here: https://writereverlasting.substack.com/
Thanks so much.
